Hi! I'm Annetta Reid

As the founder of AR Holistic Health & Fitness, my wellness journey began in 2008 as a fitness instructor, though I personally struggled with weight management and high blood pressure. In 2019, both my husband and I received devastating health news – I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and he was diagnosed as pre-diabetic.

Determined to avoid medication, I immersed myself in research and adopted a holistic approach to managing diabetes. Through dedicated adjustments to diet and exercise, within three months my blood sugar levels stabilized naturally, eliminating the need for medication – a transformation that amazed both us and our doctor.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I began offering free online fitness challenges, which evolved into a supportive community for women navigating midlife health challenges. Alongside two passionate friends who shared my vision for holistic health, we founded AR Holistic Health & Fitness in 2022 as a Community Interest Company (CIC), specifically focused on empowering women over 40 who face chronic health conditions.

Together with my co-founders, we developed a comprehensive approach combining nutrition, mindset, magnetic therapy, and fitness, addressing the whole person rather than just symptoms. As a CIC, we reinvest in our community through subsidized programs and free challenges, building a movement of women who prove that vibrant health is achievable at any age.

Hello, I'm Maria, and I wear many hats - as a full-time information analyst for the NHS and a part-time Slimming World consultant.

My journey into health and fitness began as a personal quest, navigating the challenges of weight management and overall well-being, particularly as a woman over 50.

Through perseverance and dedication, I’ve not only transformed my own life but gained invaluable insights into the psychology of behaviour change and sustainable weight loss.

My path intersected with Annetta’s over a decade ago when I attended her invigorating Zumba classes. Little did I know, this would mark the beginning of a profound friendship and a shared passion for holistic health. Annetta’s transition to online fitness during lockdown was a game-changer for me, allowing me to up my fitness game, where I developed my strength, fitness and flexibility abilities, far surpassing my goals seamlessly amid my home-working schedule.

Annetta’s holistic approach not only helped me overcome a knee complaint but empowered me to embrace a lifestyle of wellness and vitality. Her inclusive philosophy ensures that regardless of age or ability, everyone can thrive and reach their full health potential.

In 2023, when Annetta invited me to join her as a director of AR Holistic Health & Fitness, I saw an opportunity to merge my expertise in nutrition and behaviour change with her transformative fitness programs. Together, we’re committed to empowering women to achieve their health and fitness goals while fostering a supportive community where we can grow and thrive together.

Hello, I'm Donna, the Finance Manager and one of the Directors at AR Holistic Health & Fitness CIC.

Balancing a fulfilling career as a Finance Manager with the joys of being a mom to three wonderful grown-up children keeps my life both busy and enjoyable.

Over the years, like many, I’ve grappled with weight management, especially after having my children. While initially relying on exercise to control my weight, I’ve come to realize the transformative power of a holistic approach, combining fitness with a mindful diet.

Being part of Annetta’s online health and fitness support has been a game-changer for me. I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge about nutrition, food grouping, and various fitness disciplines.

What stood out for me was the profound impact of cutting out processed foods on my health markers. This, I believe, has contributed to keeping my cholesterol, heart rate, blood pressure, and blood sugars well below concerning levels, as confirmed in a recent medical check-up. And, as we all know, as we get older, these health considerations become more prominent.

In 2023, when Annetta invited me to join her in this venture, I felt privileged. I see it as an opportunity to help more women improve their health and fitness.

As a woman over 50, I intimately understand the realities of the middle-age spread, feeling tired, and getting creaky. I believe that more support and workable strategies are needed for mature women as they approach their 40s, 50s, and beyond.

As one of the directors of AR Holistic Health & Fitness, I’m thrilled to be part of a mission that goes beyond fitness – it’s about empowering women to thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally.
